About Us
KEE Federal Credit Union was granted its charter from the NCUA on August 6, 1975 as Kearney Eaton Employees Federal Credit Union. The original charter was signed by Ronnie L. Young, Gregory A. Daake, Arnold P. Peterson, Jr., Michael A. Clark, David R. Kahl, Pamela A. Johnson and Del Teel. At that time, the credit union office was located inside the Kearney Eaton plant and was operated by one employee. Only Eaton employees, retirees and pensioners and their families made up the membership base. Services offered were minimal – savings accounts and loans.
In late 1989, KEE Federal Credit Union expanded to another office located in a rented suite in Rovar Park. This was the year the credit union expanded its charter to include other select employee groups other than just Eaton employees and the services offered. Since then, the credit union has added many select employee groups within the city of Kearney and the entire area of Dawson County, Nebraska.
In March of 2001, property at 2600 Hwy 30 E was purchased. This facility enabled the credit union to have a drive thru window, a night deposit box and more office space to become a full service financial institution.
The Credit Union has come a long way in its journey since 1975. Today we offer our members a tremendous choice of financial products such as loans for almost every purpose, share certificates, three different ATM locations, share draft accounts, prepaid VISA debit cards, and so much more! In addition, we have pledged to keep our service as personalized as it was when we were located inside the Eaton plant!!
You can trust KEE Federal Credit Union to provide the safety you seek from your financial institution. Not only are we backed by our experience and stability, but savings deposits are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund.
KEE Federal Credit Union is a financial institution owned and operated by our members. Everyone is joined together by a common bond; each is either employed by one of our Select Employee Groups or they are one of their family members. When you open an account with us, you become a member. Once you are a member, you become a part-owner! Credit unions are not for profit organizations, meaning that all net earnings are returned to our members in the form of dividends, lower loan rates, or other services.
The credit union is member controlled. Each member has one vote in the annual election of the Board of Directors. Management is under the direct control of the Board of Directors. Because our President and Board of Directors are local members, all decisions are made here, not in another state.
Members make this credit union special. And remember, since members OWN the credit union, you can be sure we know your needs and work hard to exceed your expectations. We return the money we make to you in the form of better rates and services. In other words, it comes back to you.
Some other tidbits to keep in mind…
- Once a member, always a member. If you exit your place of employment, you’re still a credit union member provided you maintain a membership share balance in your savings account.
- By joining, you unlock the door to membership for your relatives. We look forward to serving your spouse, children, parents, aunts, uncles and even your in-laws!
- Shopping for a vehicle can be both time consuming and frustrating. Come to your credit union first for pre-approval. Other benefits include: extended warranties, GAP insurance, credit life and disability insurance.
- All loan decisions are made locally and by the person sitting across the desk from you.
- We are obsessed with customer service. Expect us to know your name and help find the solutions that fit you.
KEE Federal Credit Union is a proud partner with other credit unions across the country in the Credit Unions For Kids. This nonprofit collaboration is engaged in fundraising activities to benefit the 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, including Nebraska’s own Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha.
One hundred percent of every dollar donated by our KEE Federal members goes to our local Children’s Hospital in Omaha. Your donation goes to work in our state, helping you and thousands of others who receive treatment there every year.
Ask your KEE Member Service Representative for other ways you can participate in Credit Unions for Kids.
It’s simple to become a member of KEE Federal Credit Union!
You must be employed by one of our Select Employee Groups or be a relative of one of our members, ie; spouse, child, parent, even an in-law. All you need to do is sign a membership card and deposit $5.00 into your savings account. Membership cards are available at both KEE Federal Credit Union locations. We encourage you to speak with a Member Service Representative to learn more about being a member and an owner of your credit union.
